Bio
CARLY MARTIN is an artist from Thunder Bay, Ontario. She began vocal lessons at the age of nine with a focus on classical voice before exploring other genres like music theatre and pop. Carly performed in her first musical when she was in grade nine and found a passion for theatre immediately. Carly has won several awards for her vocal performances including the Airth Bowl for Classical Voice from the Lakehead Festival of Music and the Arts and the Award for Highest Achievement in Vocal Performance from Sheridan College in 2019. Carly is a graduate of Sheridan College where she received an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance. Since graduating, Carly has performed twice on the Magnus Theatre stage (Thunder Bay, ON) in the first ever actor-musician production of Man of La Mancha followed by the play Hand to God where she quickly learned to puppeteer. Hungry for new opportunities to learn and grow her skillset, Carly continues to audition for companies and productions across Canada while simultaneously inspiring other artists through teaching voice lessons. She is dedicated to immersing herself in music and song. Carly is especially passionate about new Canadian theatre works. Carly found a sense of home in theatre- the community, the artistry and the palpable connection between an artist and an audience fuels her and inspires her to continue telling stories and sharing her voice.
