Well, hey there!

I'm SO happy you're here!

I bet you're wondering: "Who is Carly anyway?".

I grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, playing and exploring in the deep snow, building forts, playing with Barbies, and most significantly, putting on performances on my concrete driveway for my neighbours. I would set out and plug in my CD player (oh, how times have changed), blast my Camp Rock CD, and sing and dance and just live so beautifully and freely in the moment. These moments are why I love theatre- its spontaneity, its freedom, its purpose, its joy and its surrender. And even at 8 years old, that feeling was magic and all-consuming.

While I’ve grown up and I am older, not much has changed since those days of driveway performances. I am a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College, and at the core of my need and desire to create is still that little girl who just loved to perform and share stories. While days turn to night and years come and go even more briskly as I grow up, I still, with every ounce of my being, want to perform, connect with others through song and stories, and create magic with incredible artists for eager audiences (preferably in a theatre, rather than on a driveway- its hard on the knees and I’m not getting any younger, folks).

-Carly Martin (self-proclaimed driveway performer)

P.S: I am still patiently awaiting the day where I can gather a neighbourhood together to perform “We’re All in This Together” on the back of a moving pick-up truck. Epic.
